Job Summary

This is a second level supervisory position. Supervise the Substation Supervisors and Bargaining Unit associates responsible for the maintenance and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment in substations and switching stations in accordance with manufacturer’s and Company standards. Ensure application of safe work principles. Direct the preventative maintenance and construction work on substation and switching station equipment and maintain complete records of work performed. Plan long-term work schedules and revise in accordance with failures and emergencies, as needed. Train and evaluate bargaining unit and MAST employees in their performance of duties. Achieve the desired results of the Electric T&D - Projects & Construction organization through the use of PSEG values and tools, sound management practices and skills and a total commitment to teamwork. Ability to manage all aspects of operations on a day-to-day basis and direct team in accomplishing desired results. Ensure quality and quantity of work performed is in compliance with Company standards and procedures, safe work practices and government regulations. Maximize system reliability by ensuring timely and effective planning and scheduling. Develop MAST and bargaining unit personnel group skills to effectively meet goals and performance objectives. Assist in the development of objectives and the budgets to support these objectives and maintain operating expenditures within allowable variances. Coach, counsel and recognize associates in accordance with Positive Discipline. Conduct fact-finding and grievance meetings as required. Conduct performance appraisal reviews with MAST and bargaining unit associates. Must be able to accept substation on-call assignments and have a willingness to respond outside of normal work hours.

Job Responsibilities

Maximize system reliability by ensuring timely and effective planning and scheduling. Develop MAST and bargaining unit personnel group skills to effectively meet goals and performance objectives. Assist in the development of objectives and the budgets to support these objectives and maintain operating expenditures within allowable variances. Coach, counsel and recognize associates in accordance with Positive Discipline. Conduct fact-finding and grievance meetings as required. Conduct performance appraisal reviews with MAST and bargaining unit associates. Ensure Electric T&D organization on call coverage and accept call out obligations.

Job Specific Qualifications

Experience as a First Level Supervisor. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST), but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be

used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated

• 6-10 years' experience in the operation, construction and maintenance of PSE&G substations and switching station equipment.

• Strong working knowledge of Company/Union Agreement. Working knowledge of work management systems.

• Technical degree or High School graduate with extensive experience.

• Prior supervisory experience required.

• Experience with layout of substation work and supervision of the work of others, including both MAST and Bargaining Unit employees.

• Experience in coordinating transmission and distribution outages in order to complete our maintenance work plan.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

• Working knowledge of the SAP work Management and CMMS Data Base Systems in order to evaluate, enter and access data.

• Must Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

• Safety Sensitive Position - D.O.T. Testing Required.

Willingness to work outside of normal work hours, and respond to system emergencies.
