Center Point Energy is looking for a Representative, Field Sales to join our Team , located in Minneapolis, MN .

You will have the ability to: Promote and sell HVAC, hearth, and water heating products to residential and small commercial customers with rapid, efficient response to all inquiries, while exhibiting integrity and professional attitudes assuring achievement of individual, department and divisional goals.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Respond to all inquiries for purchases of HVAC, hearth, water heaters and other products with urgency and integrity. Individually prospect sales leads to assure that individual, departmental and divisional goals are attained or exceeded.

  • Complete all orders legibly and accurately and turns them in daily, including complete installation data to provide for fast, efficient service, ensuring good customer relations, loyalty and referrals. Update the sales lead management system daily, to provide a timely report of sales lead activity and results.

  • Expedite HVAC, hearth, and water heating products, providing coordination with customers, internal support, and installers to ensure customer satisfaction, loyalty, and referrals.

  • Respond to all customer issues regarding personal sales of products and installation in a prompt, respectful manner assuring resolution consistent with company policy. Follow up after installations with all customers to determine levels of customer satisfaction and prospect future sales.

Your background includes:

  • A high school education or the equivalent knowledge of English, basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and calculation of fractions and/or percentages), grammar and punctuation.

  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time sales experience, business management experience or business ownership.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Able to meet and maintain performance and attendance criteria for the job.

  • Able to perform mathematical calculations including percentages, ratios, heat losses, profit margins and taxes.

  • Able to learn mechanical principles associated with HVAC, hearth and water heater products.

  • Able to use a laptop or personal computer and software including email, spreadsheets and word processing.

  • Able to demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing.

  • Able to establish and maintain positive and constructive working relationship with a wide range of contacts including customers and contractors.

  • Able to demonstrate proven sales skills including listening, persuasion, presentation, overcoming objections, closing and creating customer loyalty.

  • Able to provide a valid Minnesota driver’s license and have a safe driving record as determined by the Company.

  • Able to meet all physical requirements, competency-based assessments, pre-employment background checks, pre-employment drug screen and other selection criteria determined by the company.
