Power Generation Electrical Engineering Intern

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Power Generation Electrical Engineering Intern in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This role will begin in May/June of 2025 and will be full-time through the summer. The hourly rate for this position is $21.40 with paid company holidays.

Join a team of multi-disciplinary engineers supporting the operation, maintenance, performance and optimization of Port Washington Generation Station and our Milwaukee Valley Power Plant. Receive mentoring and guidance from experienced engineers within Power Generation. Provide a vital support role to our generating fleet through a period of transition. Network with other engineering intern students throughout the fleet.

Job Responsibilities

• Equipment inspections

• Troubleshooting operation and maintenance issues

• Failure investigation

• Project support

• Assist in managing small projects

• Equipment reliability

• Equipment and plant performance and optimization

• Electrical and plant control support

• Drawing reviews and updates

• Procedure reviews and updates

• Ensure adherence to codes and standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSE

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and other related majors with a graduation date after June 2025.

• Minimum GPA of 2.8

Preferred Qualifications

• Related school project experience is preferred

• Internship experience is preferred
