Summary
As a Designer Trainee at Oncor, you will develop designs and prepare estimates to ensure quality construction of electric distribution system additions, expansions, and modifications in accordance with all Company policies and accepted standards to meet the needs of new and existing customers within budgetary guidelines. You will be under the direct supervision of others, perform duties to provide assistance to the design organization as needed.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements
Under the direct guidance of other designers, prepare designs and estimates for projects to provide electric facilities to meet customer needs. Designs must ensure reliable, economical, safe, and timely expansion of the Oncor electric distribution facilities
Assist other designers to manage projects through the construction process to ensure timely completion and accurate posting of AeGIS data and financial records
Assist other designers in the process of communicating with customers and other work groups to ensure internal and external expectations are met
Assist other designers to ensure that all projects are properly closed in a timely manner and the AeGIS model is correct
Incorporate safety as an aspect in the design and operation of facilities to ensure personnel and public safety
Under the direction of others, effectively manage assigned projects while maintaining work product reliability and volume
Actively participate in personal developmental planning and training to expand project design knowledge and opportunities
Must be able and available to assist in storm restoration efforts
Successfully participate in and complete the required training in order to transition to the next job level in the Design hierarchy. It is expected that the incumbent in this position would have demonstrated their understanding of the basic design job tasks and be considered for the next job level within 12-18 months

Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
Applicants with 1 plus year of direct or related design/construction/project management experience are encouraged to apply
