NiSource Supplier Sustainability Analyst in Merrillville, Indiana
Job Summary
The Supplier Sustainability Analyst ensures the sustainability and ethical practices of our supply chain. They are responsible for evaluating and monitoring our suppliers' environmental, social, and ethical performance to align with our organization's commitment to sustainability. The Analyst liaises with multiple areas of the business to drive a key strategic initiative in collaboration with our suppliers. The Analyst is responsible for administering a continuous improvement initiative with set targets supported by metrics and project management plans.

Essential Functions
Conducts comprehensive assessments of current and potential suppliers to evaluate their sustainability practices.
Supports measurement of enterprise scope 3 categories, prioritization of related initiatives and enterprise scope 3 emission reduction efforts.
Communicates with suppliers to share performance feedback, discusses improvement opportunities, and aligns them with sustainability goals.
Establishes internal metrics, measures progress and ensures ongoing maintenance of supply chain sustainability metrics.
Monitors and ensures supplier compliance with relevant environmental, social, and ethical standards and regulations.
Analyzes supplier data and performance metrics related to environmental impact, social responsibility, and ethical conduct.
Utilizes quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to interpret and evaluate supplier sustainability data.
Identifies trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in supplier sustainability performance.
Prepares regular reports on supplier sustainability performance for internal stakeholders.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality assurance, and sustainability teams, to integrate sustainability considerations into supplier selection and management processes.
Stays abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in sustainability to continuously improve supplier sustainability programs.
Required Qualifications For Position
Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, sustainability, supply chain management in business, technical or related area
1-3 years Utility industry experience
1-3 years Experience in the area of supplier sustainability
1-3 years Experience in sustainability analysis, supplier management, or a related field
1-3 years Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP)
1-3 years Experience in combining data from various sources to analyze and organize to drive informed decision-making
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal abilities High
Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project execution High
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of business applications (PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word) Medium
Ability to identify challenges and propose creative solutions Medium
Experience in leading change management and affective positive organizational, process or culture change Medium
Strong financial and business acumen, and ability to analyze information to provide insight-driven recommendations Low

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Master's Degree
1-3 years Experience in procurement, category management or related function
1-3 years Experience with SAP Ariba
Certified Sustainable Development Professional or similar

Salary Range:
$65,900.00 - $99,000.00
