NiSource Strategy & Workplace Planning Manager in Merrillville, Indiana

Essential Functions

  • Leads the development and implementation of long-term facility strategies that align with organizational goals and business growth.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to assess current and future facility requirements based on business plans and workforce projections.

  • Conducts detailed analyses of facility needs, space utilization, and resource allocation to identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Identifies risks, develops mitigation strategies, and ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.

  • Manages and updates comprehensive facility master plans, ensuring they address operational, environmental, and financial goals.

  • Leads sustainability initiatives to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and promote environmentally conscious practices across facilities.

  • Oversees facility planning initiatives, including new construction, renovations, relocations, and consolidations.

  • Develops and manages budgets for facility planning projects, ensuring cost control and adherence to timelines.

  • Monitors trends and emerging technologies in facility planning and strategy to ensure the organization remains innovative and competitive.

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Facilities Management, Architecture or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in Real Estate Strategy Planning

  • Experience in space planning and workplace strategy in a corporate environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data-driven decision-making. High

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. High

  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and sustainable building practices. Medium

  • Proficiency in space management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Medium

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. High

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • MBA

  • Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) Upon Hire

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Upon Hire

Salary Range*:

$110,200.00 - $165,300.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience , as well as internal pay equity .
