NiSource Scope Development & Engineering NIPSCO Intern - Summer 2019 in Merrillville, Indiana

The intern will work closely with the scope development and estimating line engineer and the scope development and estimating substation engineer. These engineers will be the interns mentors. The intern will be exposed to the TDSIC plan, TDSIC estimating, TDSIC scoping; which includes walk downs, statement of work development and interact with various departments that are stakeholders into the project. He/She will also be involved with New Customer requests, Economic Planning requests, Capital Maintenance requests (ICPP), MISO upgrades and TUAs. He/She will also become familiar with SharePoint and understand how we use this program to track all of the department work. The intent in requesting an intern is not only to help him/her become familiar with transmission and distribution line, and transmission and distribution substations; but to also aid in the tasks for the scope development and estimating team. With the inclusion of this additional tem member, it will be mutually beneficial to both parties. Additional Responsibilities:

Use a number of computer tools to assist with Scope Development Estimating: Excel, SharePoint, GIS, Cascade, Meridian, Google Earth, Adobe PDF Exchange Viewer, PowerPoint

Track, organize and collaborates on incoming PCNs

Analyze documents for consistency and coordinate line and substation methods

Analyze project estimates vs. actual costs.
