National Grid Pilot - Part Time in Mattydale, New York
_About the Position:___
14 CFR Part 91 Operation is seeking a part-time Pilot for contingent support. The position will be flying the company aircraft transporting company employees to conduct business on behalf of the company and its subsidiaries. The pilot’s primary duty will be flying the company’s fixed wing aircraft as well as some management /administrative functions. This position will be based inSyracuse,New York.
_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):___
Maintain valid licenses and certificates required to perform flight duties. Obtain and maintain a current passport.
Transport employees safely and efficiently in company airplane.
Remain current and qualified in the assigned aircraft and be familiar with all regulations and procedures pertaining to its operation.
Analyze key flight information including mechanics logs, routing, airport facilities, weather conditions and fuel requirements prior to departure to ensure passenger safety, comfort and confidence.
Keep up to date with industry developments through trade and aviation publications and maintain personal flying proficiency to ensure the optimization of best practice for National Grid.
Ensure flight crew complies with safety standards, policies and processes to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all passengers.
Develop and maintain aircraft records to support transportation solutions and enhance safety and efficiency.
Perform additional administrative duties and special projects.
_Knowledge & Experience Required:_
Knowledge and experience of 10 years within corporate aviation preferred.
Requires a valid FAA Commercial Pilot certificate
Requires Airline Transport Pilot Rating – Airplane Multi-Engine Land
Required a FAA 2ndClass Medical Certificate
Requires FCC Restricted Radio-Telephone Operators Permit.
BS degree in aviation or related field preferred. Advanced degree and aviation safety training a plus.
Requires a minimum of the following hours:
o Total Time: 3,000
o Multi-Engine: 1,000
o Turbine: 500
o PIC: 1,500
Understands the importance of aviation procedures and standards of working and demonstrates the ability to give directions with clear reasons and rationales.
MS Office and general computer skills are necessary.
Attend flight training and receive type rating on type of aircraft the company operates.
To plan all aspects of corporate flights in company aircraft including pre-flight responsibilities, weather assessment, and flight planning.
Perform a complete pre-flight inspection of the aircraft, to include an external walk-around and a cabin inspection. Use all required checklists.
Oversee refuelling and servicing of the aircraft and ensure that proper provisions are on board for each flight.
Assist in the loading and unloading of baggage and perform other services, as required, to expedite the handling of passengers.
Complete all required aircraft forms, logs, records, and reports.
Able to work under various flight conditions and appropriately manage delays and deviations from flight schedules.
