About The Position

The Supervisor, Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of storeroom personnel, and the management of their work in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate personnel engaged in storeroom operations. Provide clear expectations for performance.

  • Plan, organize, and direct the workforce in a safe, efficient, and effective manner and in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements. Evaluate work performed and manage overtime.

  • Work collaboratively with Business Line personnel to help optimize inventory levels and positively impact customer service.

  • Oversee storeroom operations, maintaining parts and inventory levels and all records necessary for the functioning of the supply chain, security of storeroom facilities, job training, and adherence to accepted safety practices and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to federal and state labor and environmental laws and occupational safety and health regulations.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of department and function goals. Identify and implement improvements in supply chain operations to control costs and improve productivity.

  • Represent the Company in bargaining unit matters.

  • Participate in callout rotation with other storeroom supervision to support the operation.

  • Direct and support personnel engaged in outage and emergency operations.


Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in Economics, Accounting, Business or related field. Six or more years of experience in utility material management or storeroom operations may be considered in lieu of a degree. Five or more years of experience in storeroom operations or utility material management required. Experience in utility storeroom operations preferred. Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Knowledge of supply chain functions with a thorough understanding of Utility/Energy procedures is preferred. Exposure and knowledge of computerized systems with an understanding of word processing programs and supply chain inventory control programs (EMPRV). Regular travel to various storeroom locations will be required, as well as emergency support. Demonstrated leadership, communication, administrative, and human relations skills required. After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for additional selection procedures (e.g., interview) designated for this position.
