Job Description

Modify existing and/or develop new one-line displays on Energy Control Center (ECC) Energy Management System. This will provide ECC System Operations expanded situational awareness of the real-time system.

Establish Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) user profiles for ECC System Operations in the main ECC, develop user guide, provide training to the ECC System Operations and identify areas for improvement to promote use of the new system.

Assist ECC Engineers in Implementing Advanced Applications Database modeling improvements on the development system that will lower the number of iterations required to achieve a State Estimated solution.

Assist Operations Planning Engineers in the development of Power System Simulation and Modeling software (PSS®E) slider diagrams for the NYPA System.

Required Skills

Must have completed core courses toward a degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power preferred. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, etc...) Must be able to work in a team environment, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be well organized. Grade point average must at at least 3.0 or better and student transcript required with resume. Must be able to work for 12 weeks with work hours being M-F 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Required Experience

Junior, Electrical Engineering with Power concentration (preferred)

Computer skill set including Internet and Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, etc.).Excellent oral, written interpersonal communication skills required.
