General Summary We are currently looking for a Land Rights Lead who will be responsible for acquiring land rights necessary for the construction, operation and maintenance of GRE’s transmission system and generation facilities. The land rights lead will also provide guidance and support to land rights field agent team and work with the department manager to identify efficiencies and consistency. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ·Acquire governmental approvals and land rights needed for the construction, operation and maintenance of GRE's transmission system and generating facilities. ·Provide direction, guidance, and technical support to land rights field staff. ·Acts as the primary land rights point of contact for assigned project communication to work groups, member owners, public agency representatives, and other external entities. Qualifications ·Knowledge typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in real estate or related field plus 5 years of right-of-way experience required OR two-year technical degree in engineering, civil technology or survey plus 8 years of right-of-way experience. ·A real estate license or in the process of obtaining a license is preferred. ·A candidate must have a minimum of two-years leadership experience (formal or informal). ·A candidate must have a minimum of one-year (two year preferred) managing large transmission projects. ·Membership of International Right-of-Way Association is recommended. ·Knowledge and experience in all facets of land acquisition including easements, fee acquisition, leases, permits, etc. ·Knowledge of real estate law, governmental policies, land use planning and eminent domain is required. ·Knowledge of transmission design and construction procedures as well as ability to interpret engineering drawings. ·Knowledge and basic understanding of EMF issues. ·Ability to interpret engineering drawings. ·Skill in conflict resolution including the ability to address difference of opinions or facts and use of the most appropriate method to reach an effective solution. ·Skill in developing and delivering effective presentations. ·Travel expectations throughout GRE’s service territory on average will range approximately between 20-30%.
