Job Description Summary:
THIS POSITION IS ALSO BEING POSTED AT THE ASSOCIATE ENGINEER LEVEL (R-006451); HOWEVER ONLY TWO POSITIONS WILL ULTIMATELY BE FILLED.
Protection and Controls Engineering is responsible for the application, design, and documentation of electrical protection and control systems in Substations and on Distribution and Transmission lines in the Eversource-NH system. Responsibilities include developing circuit breaker, recloser, and fuse applications along with the calculation of all related settings. Engineers will also develop interconnection studies for generator interfaces, perform short circuit studies, and the analysis of system operations. Typical assignments involve the application of numerical protection and control systems and devices, distribution automation, SCADA RTUs, and digital monitoring devices.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of five years of related experience is required. Other requirements include strong analytical/computer skills, and an aptitude for detailed engineering. The ideal candidate will also have a power engineering background, and be familiar with digital protection, control, and communications concepts. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.
