National Grid Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant in Malden, Massachusetts

National Grid is hiring a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant for our Health and Wellbeing department in Malden, MA. This position will be 3 days in Malden and 2 days in Northboro.
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care, treatment, consultation, and case management for injured and ill employees in order to ensure the on-going safety and well-being of National Grid's work-force and to reduce the frequency of lost time incidents due to injury and illness.
Monitor and/or assess working practices by performing physical examinations and conducting Respiratory Fit testing (RFT) to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) legislation.
Works with both the business and external medical providers to return employees back to work promptly following an occupational illness or injury.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders and external medical providers in order to share best practice and understand business decisions.
Collate information and perform regular analyses in order to ensure more senior team members have accurate and up to date information to inform external regulators (e.g. DOT, Hearing Conservation etc) as required.
Evaluate employee compliance with OSHA safety standards and regulations and ensure team comply with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
Manage the on-site health office - provide walk-in treatment and care as needed - in order to understand employee requirements and deliver appropriate treatments, in line with National Grid policies and processes.
Perform pre-employment physical exams on all new employees and be responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and case management of occupational injuries (acute and chronic care) in order to ensure the on-going well-being of employees and to reduce absence frequency.
Conduct drug & alcohol testing i.e. pre-employment, random, reasonable cause to adhere to organizational policy and to protect National Grid's brand and reputation.
Conduct monthly Health & Wellness field visits and educational seminars in order to challenge existing ways of working and educate employees on how to do improve health and lifestyle.
Position is for Malden (3 days) and Northboro (2 days) and required to provide coverage at other National Grid Health Offices (Worcester, North Andover, Brockton) in the event of an employee illness or vacancy.
Role includes performing the following
Respirator fit testing
Worker’s comp injuries
B.S. Nursing or other discipline that qualifies for PA Master's Program and a fully qualified MSN Nurse Practitioner or Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science, or Medical Science.
Board Certification - American Nurse Credentialing Center or NCCPA-Certified and completion of PANRE every 6 yrs.
Certified in Hearing Conservation CAOHC and Spirometry
Experience in Occupational medicine, Worker's Compensation and OSHA regulations, acute medical care and evaluation and Occupational Medicine
