Portland General Electric Natural Resources Technician in Madras, Oregon

This is a temporary position that may last up to 6 months .

The Natural Resources Technician at Portland General Electric provides support to programs that ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and support implementation of fish, wildlife and water quality programs and activities at generation and other company projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs routine aspects of assignments related to environmental studies, projects and programs. Assists with field surveys, such as data collection, soil sampling, fish collection, field monitoring and water-quality sampling. Become familiar with and maintain related field equipment and inventories. Enters data from various field studies into electronic spreadsheets and databases. Assists Environmental Services employees in other department activities as needed.

  • Coordinates communication for fieldwork and related fieldwork schedules. Coordinates and assembles equipment.

  • Adheres to PGE standards, safety objectives and regulatory requirements.

Education/Experience/Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Related college course work preferred in designated specialty, such as fisheries or aquatic science.

  • Typically two or fewer years in related field.

  • Basic knowledge of related company and department-specific systems and tools
