General Purpose of Work. Performs, under the limited general supervision of the Storekeeper or designated supervisory personnel, the various functions in receiving, storing and disbursing materials, equipment and supplies.

General Duties. Unloads and checks in materials, equipment and supplies delivered to the Company by carriers and suppliers. Places materials, equipment and supplies in proper storage places. Delivers and picks up materials, equipment and supplies to and from various Company locations and to job sites and non-Company locations. Stocks bins and meters. Fills orders from various departmental stock issue cards. Uncrates, inspects and performs minor repairs on appliances. Checks in material, equipment and supplies which are returned and places back in stock. Keeps necessary records neatly and accurately. Takes the stock inventory. Performs housekeeping duties, janitorial duties and snow shoveling duties in and around storage buildings and areas. Hauls refuse and scrap. Performs driver maintenance on and operates Company vehicles. Operates such tools and equipment as dollies, skids, hand trucks, hand tools and all powered storage and moving equipment. Performs other incidental and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications. One year's experience as a Storeroom Helper - Beginner and demonstration of suitable proficiency in that classification or equivalent work experience. Must have demonstrated satisfactory aptitude, ability and responsibility for the duties of Storeroom Helper. Must demonstrate the aptitude and ability to learn new procedures and techniques and to acquire a knowledge of new materials, equipment and supplies. Must have and keep a Wisconsin driver's license. Must have the stamina to work in extreme weather conditions. Must be reasonably available for overtime and emergency work assignments. Must have learned and practiced all safety rules which apply to his work.

Knowledge and Skills to be Acquired. Improved knowledge of the correct handling, storage and storage place of material, equipment and supplies. Improved general knowledge of the use, purpose and interrelationship of materials and equipment in stock. Improved knowledge of stock and code numbers and their application. Improved accuracy in filling orders, stocking and inventory. Excellent knowledge of truck routes. Improved ability to work alone. Ability to instruct and train helpers.

This position is subject to drug testing according to the Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
