4943BRJob Responsibilities:

  • You will consult and influence leadership on a broad range of HR matters, including performance management, talent development, goal setting, conflict resolution, total compensation, employee and labor relations, talent acquisition, learning and development, workforce development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • You will design and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvement

  • You will optimize relationships and uses critical thinking in order to develop and execute human resource strategies

  • You will partner with talent acquisition to focus on acquiring and retaining top talent and building a solid pipeline for future needs.

  • You will support overall company labor strategy by leading labor relations activities such as labor contract negotiations, grievance resolution, and arbitrations. Maintain progressive and collaborative working relationships with union officials and advises management on labor relations matters.

  • You will leverage workforce analytics and insights to develop and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management

  • You will maintain an outward look to benchmark the organization against peers' and possibly best-in-class practices related to human resource solutions.

  • You will act as a change agent and culture advocate throughout the organization. You will lead the organization away from status quo to innovative solutions that drive and shape strategy. You will embrace and integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into business strategies.

  • You will provide guidance to Human Resource Business Partners on employee relations issues; compensation and benefits administration, including job description and job family development; salary recommendations, annual merit and incentive processes; and certain benefit recommendations.

Alliant Energy is seeking a Manager HR Business Partners to join our team! You will begin working on a remote basis and eventually will be based out of our office in Madison, WI. As an innovative and pro-active leader, you will support business objectives and goals of executive leadership teams and business units, to strategically leverage human resources solutions. In this exciting new role, you will serve as a thought leader on all talent matters in the employee life cycle. As a member of the HR leadership team, you will develop integrated solutions and formulate partnerships across human resources to deliver value-added services that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business administration, human resources management, behavioral sciences, labor relations or related area

Preferred Experience

  • 10 years of experience in coaching, advising and/or building relationships with leadership.

  • 6 years of supervisory experience or equivalent. (Equivalent supervisory experiences may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated leadership experience).

  • Strong labor relations experience and experience building progressive and collaborative relationships with union officials.

  • Extensive experience providing strategic counsel to upper level management.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of multiple HR disciplines (e.g., labor relations, talent management, staffing, benefits, compensation, talent management).

  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and practices.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, and the ability to independently take initiative in identifying and anticipating business unit needs and making recommendations for implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop short- and long-term strategic plans and translate those plans into action.

  • Ability to effectively provide consultation to employees and leadership on complex HR issues.

  • Solid conflict management, influencing, and problem solving skills. Ability to develop trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.

  • Ability to understand the wider organization and its strategic objectives, as well as the environment and market in which the business operates.

  • Ability to work with multiple groups in multiple locations.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate multiple projects and work initiatives at one time.

  • Ability to focus on accountability and working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, Word, Excel )

  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.
