Alliant Energy Infrastructure Analyst I in Madison, Wisconsin

5518BRJob Responsibilities:

  • Following established procedures, evaluates requests for changes to the system, documents system processes and procedures, suggests system improvements and makes daily decisions involving direct application of technical knowledge to system issues.

  • Participates in smaller and more defined system projects to assess and refine user requirements and specifications, develop test plans and conduct testing.

  • Voices customer requirements into tasks and stories using Agile tools. Communicates with peers such that user tasks and stories are clearly understood by all stakeholders.

  • Assists more experienced analysts in developing business cases for improving and/or developing systems. Assists with the testing of data and network systems.

  • Maintains relationships with other IT areas. May assist in managing relationships with outside vendors. Handles simple inquiries regarding the technical aspects of business systems by providing assistance to and coordinating work with IT staff and other business units (e.g., front-end ticket response).

  • Performs basic research and evaluation of network technology and assists in the development of recommendations for the purchase and ordering of network equipment through requirements gathering and test plans. Prepares requisitions and purchase orders and assists with compliance to government rules and regulations.

    Alliant Energy has an outstanding opportunity for an Infrastructure Analyst I to join the team. In this role you will serve as a liaison between the IT Infrastructure group and other areas of IT and business units for the Operations and Maintenance development and implementation of enhancements to existing data communications and network systems.

This position will offer a blend of working from home, and in the Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office on average 2 days per week. The successful candidate for this position must reside in either Iowa or Wisconsin. Job Category:Information Technology Job Qualifications:

Preferred Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in information technology, computer science,

  • telecommunications, business administration, or related area

  • Working knowledge and familiarity with network and/or voice technologies, experience with Visio

preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, draw conclusions, and devise solutions to logical problems

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of accounting and purchasing procedures

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
