Alliant Energy Executive Compensation Consultant in Madison, Wisconsin
Serve as subject matter expert on executive compensation and incentive programs. Makes recommendations and models impacts of potential program changes.
Works closely with the Director to provides analytical and consultative guidance on the design of compensation programs with an emphasis on long term pay.
Makes recommendations for improving delivery of executive pay programs.
Administers compensation programs company executives and directors. Programs may include base pay evaluation, short and long-term incentive plans.
Partners with internal Legal department and other internal resources to prepare documents for the proxy disclosure.
Drafts and prepares materials for the Compensation and Personnel Committee of the Board of Directors for the company.
Acts in a lead compensation role in development of the Compensation Discussion and Analysis portion of the Annual Proxy Statement
Supports internal and external regulatory and reporting requirements.
Conducts competitive benchmarking of executive rewards to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
Responsible for all activities related to the Board of Director’s independent director compensation.
Engage with external consultants and organizations to acquire and leverage insights and best-in-class practices associated with external surveys.
Improves executive’s and director’s understanding of incentive compensation programs by developing and creating educational materials.
Makes recommendations regarding combination of jobs, job families, development of jobs, structure of job descriptions and specifications for jobs.
Assists business partners and management on determining how jobs fit in the company and the presentation of new jobs, grades, and structures.
Develops discussion materials when applicable and may attend business unit and/or department meetings.

This position will report to the Director Total Rewards and will be located out of our Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA office. In this position, you are responsible for the development, implementation and administration of executive compensation programs. Conducts competitive benchmarking of executive rewards to ensure competitiveness and compliance. You are also responsible for day-to-day administration of equity programs including equity award granting, equity award vesting and compliance with all equity award plan rules. The position will lead the compensation function though the annual Proxy Statement process.

7 plus years' experience to include;
Experience in executive compensation programs, preferably with a public company.
Demonstrated experience with successful total reward programs strategies and practices.
Extensive experience providing compensation consultation and guidance to senior leadership, clients, or business groups.
Experience preparing the CD&A of Annual Proxy Statement.
Experience working with a Board of Directors, meeting preparation and material development.
Knowledgeable of the executive compensation regulatory and legal environments
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, statistics, mathematics, human resources, or related area.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and / Or Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP) designation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent working knowledge of human resources regulations and procedures.
Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a proven track record with collaborating and building business partnerships.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, develop effective presentations and deliver presentations to groups of employees at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management). Advanced skills in spreadsheet and database applications preferred.
Demonstrated solid analytical skills, good accounting skills, and the ability to successfully perform in-depth analysis and interpret data.
Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
