BWXT is currently seeking a Waste Treatment Tech for its Lynchburg, VA location!

The Waste Treatment Tech requires third shift work, weekend, and holiday work as assigned.

Job Description/Duties:

  • Operates equipment and processes in the Demineralized Water Systems, Industrial and Sanitary Waste Water Plant, and the Nutrient Reduction Facility.

  • Performs complex Wastewater testing.

  • Inputs data and performs system troubleshooting to make operational adjustments to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Assists other licensed operators with other related duties.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical field OR high school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience is required.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Wastewater Class III license through the State of Virginia. Licensing must be successfully obtained within two years of job acceptance.

  • Must obtain forklift license.

  • Must qualify to wear respiratory protection equipment.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel desired.

  • Laboratory experience desired to support VPDES permit analytical requirements.

  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
