The IB Services Business Group:

The IB Services Business Group combines the nuclear reactor design and construction activities and the products and services activities necessary for the maintenance, operation, modernization, and improvement of power plants. It also includes vessel propulsion nuclear reactor and research reactor activities.

Our organization designs, fabricates, and installs plant hardware for the worldwide nuclear commercial fleet.

Framatome is seeking an Outage Manager for our Lynchburg, VA office.

This position includes oversight and management of the following types of tasks:

Major Component Replacements

• Steam Generators

• Pressurizers

• Reactor Vessel Heads and Integrated Head Assemblies

Component Repairs

• Specialized Automated and Manual Welding

• Specialized Machining including Electrical Discharge Machining

• Underwater In-Vessel Components and Internals

Asset Protection

• Cavitation Peening

Emergent Repairs

• Industry Best Response to Emergent Issues

Job Description:

The Outage Manager is responsible for receiving a project after contract award.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with staffing to staff each position

  • Work with Project Manager to define budgets for each task

  • Create schedules for pre-outage work, crew training & outage work

  • Provide interface with site project team to integrate schedule with outage schedule

  • Manage task to stay within allotted budgets

  • Interface with site team to plan outage activities & support

  • Execute task at site

  • Close out task when complete

The Outage Manager may supplement other groups/tasks in a verity of positions as the business needs change.

It is required to be able to pass security & background checks to hold an un escorted badge at sites. It is also a requirement to be able to travel to sites, sometimes with very short notice.


All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • Bachelor's Degree, or directly related equivalent experience in lieu of degree, plus 10 years of closely related experience

  • Strong technical knowledge of the Product Lines, work processes, and equipment utilized

  • Basic contractual requirements knowledge

  • Excellent leadership skills

  • Integrated Outage Management

  • Field Management of Complex Repair and Replacement Projects

  • Project Scheduling

  • Comprehensive Task-Specific Training (Field Machining or Welding)

  • Resource Management or Project Staffing

  • Equipment Technicians for Specialized Mechanical and Electrical Tooling

  • Managing or supervision of welding crews & tasks


  • TRAVEL: * (75%) domestic travel.
