The Installed Base Services Business Group:
The Installed Base Services Business Group combines the nuclear reactor design and construction activities and the products and services activities necessary for the maintenance, operation, modernization, and improvement of power plants. It also includes vessel propulsion nuclear reactor and research reactor activities.
The NDE Automated Operations Group:
NDE (Non Destructive Examinations) Automated Operations specializing in remote tooling and robotics for inspecting nuclear components. The NDE automated operations group works in both PWR and BWR environments inspecting components with simple to sophisticated tooling and robotic equipment. The group works closely with engineering and other technical workers in tooling development and realization. Work will primarily consist of field execution of NDE automated tasks using robots and remote tooling. Tooling is used on such components as reactor vessels, reactor internal components, piping, steam generators and closure heads.
Job Description: *
Framatome is seeking a Non-Destructive (NDE) Technician I SR (peak) for the NDE Operations group located in Lynchburg, VA at our Mill Ridge Road facility. *
Under direct supervision, this position assists in maintenance activities of NDE tooling at customer sites. Work is performed according to instructions and established procedures and/or guidelines and under direct supervision of a more experienced associate or supervisor. May be required to work around radioactive and/or corrosive chemicals and to wear appropriate protective equipm
Responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:
Installs, troubleshoots, assembles and disassembles, repairs and maintains tooling and equipment at plant sites; may include equipment associated with refueling, inspecting and maintaining nuclear reactors and components.
Conducts routine and non-routine tasks, operates specialized equipment, takes measurements, extracts and compiles data regarding equipment and process performance.
Develops calculations, tables, reports and related data; maintains maintenance logs and certification documents.
Assists with the development of procedures required to perform equipment maintenance and operation.
Participates in planning and executing projects.
May provide input to training materials and may conduct training, as needed.
Complies with all applicable safety and health rules including personal dose compliance.
Works flexible hours and shifts, as required, to ensure timely service.
May require extensive travel to a variety of regional and remote job sites.
TRAVEL: Seasonal (40%)
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
High School diploma, or equivalent education, with a minimum of 1-2 years of directly related experience.
Experience in one or more of the following: ECT, UT, VT, PT, or MT.
Able to lift up to 35 pounds, bend, stoop, and remain standing for extended periods of time.

Advanced knowledge of commonly used equipment, practices, procedures and concepts in a particular field.
May require specific nuclear reactor plant maintenance qualification training and certification.
Knowledge of company and industry safety and health policies and programs, as required for specific roles.
Good written/verbal skills; ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, vendors and customers.
Ability to comprehend instructions, policies, procedures and guidelines required to perform assigned tasks.
Seasonal (40%) domestic travel.
