The LNG Lead Technician (Electrical) reports directly to the Electrical Supervisor and is a member of multi-disciplined crew responsible for the operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import/export and re-gasification terminal, including LNG process systems, infrastructure, controls and emergency response, and operation of the Distributed Control System (DCS) consoles. Dedication, sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with policies and procedures is essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the terminal.The successful candidate must be willing to work in an industrial environment, with the bulk of their time spent overseeing or performing field work including the inspection, testing, service, repair, configuration, calibration, and installation of medium and low-voltage class generators, transformers, switchgear, motor-control centers, panelboards, motors, heaters, and related components The LNG Lead Technician (Electrical) works on complex and detailed systems, troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems, and replaces component parts as required. Also may fill in for the Electrical Supervisor during the Supervisor's absence.Mastery of the subject matter or diversified knowledge of principles and practice in broad areas of assignments and related fields include:Responsible for coordinating Electric Shop activities and personnel under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor.Responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, meggers, circuit breaker, and relay test equipment,Testing cabling, generators, switchgear, motor-control centers, relays, motors, heaters, transformers, and recording data as required,Performing required engineering functions for electrical system modifications,Maintaining drawings and configuration documentation as related to the electrical system,Serving as project leader for electrical system upgrades and/or modifications,Possibly training and guiding less experienced Electrical Technicians and addressing Operators' system concerns.Understands the Plant Electrical Power Generation and Distribution system, and adheres to safety protocols. Fully understands all plant utilities, including air, water, power generation, sanitation and nitrogen, Monitors the loading/unloading of LNG ships.Trains on environmental safety, operations and security procedures.Operates the facility recognizing the safety and environmental consequences of actions taken.Achieves the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance. May perform the duties of a LNG technician in a rotational shift environment, including holiday, weekends, and nights.Performs all duties applying safety protocols and adhering to regulatory mandates.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

- Minimum of seven (7) years industrial experience in a related field
Other preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
SAP experience (preferred)
Previous LNG experience (preferred)
Previous leadership experience (preferred)
The successful candidate should also have an applied knowledge of electrical and instrumentation such as medium and low-voltage generators, motors, switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, fuses, cabling, power and instrument transformers.Familiar with the requirements of NFPA 70 - National Electric Code and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace.Working knowledge of the hazards and safety requirements for working in proximity of machinery and equipment capable of severe electrical shock and arc-flash.Previous work experience demonstrating technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems.Knowledge of environmental regulations.Ability to perform lab equipment calibration.Ability to provide guidance and/or training to less experienced Electrical Technicians and Operators.Basic computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills, oral and written communication skills, technical writing skills, electrical skills, and mathematical skills.Full ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment or process problems.Full ability to conduct site inspections or walk downs, including working at heights.Ability to maintain drawings and configuration documentation as related to the industrial electrical system.
