We are looking for: Principal Lab Technical Analyst (Quality)

Laboratory Services is the single point of contact for providing technical expertise in the areas of calibration, chemistry, nondestructive and materials testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance testing. We are committed to maintaining and strengthening our long-term working relationships by ensuring professionalism, competence, confidence, and trust are demonstrated with every service we provide. Our Laboratory uses modern technology and serves a diverse clientele in a wide variety of fields. We perform both laboratory and field work and offer pickup and delivery of equipment of any samples that require special handling.

The Principal Laboratory Technical Analyst is the technical subject matter expert (SME) for the department, managing all technical aspects of the department, ensuring compliance to quality standards and test methods, and will provide any technical training as needed by leadership. Maintains responsibility for maintaining the standards, procedures, equipment in their respective department, and ensuring that the department remains up to date with all emerging technologies, trends, industry requirement and government regulations relevant to the departments responsibilities. The Principal Laboratory Technical Analyst is the single point of contact for any complex and/or unique challenges and projects requested of the department and is responsible for delivering on project expectations with little to no oversight. Large projects & initiatives , managing entire scope of responsibility with little or no oversight.

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific, technical, or related field with seven (7) or more years of applicable experience

  • [OR] Associate’s degree in scientific, technical, or related field with nine (9) or more years of applicable experience

  • [OR] High School Diploma with eleven (11) or more years of applicable experience

  • Prior experience performing technical laboratory work under standard procedures within an industry recognized quality system.

  • Certifications will vary based on the specific Lab Services department.

In this role:

The Principal Laboratory Technical Analyst is responsible for performing complex analytical and/or quantitative and qualitative testing in accordance with industry accepted codes, specifications, and standards. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking ownership of their value stream while providing guidance and direction to other team members and applying CE Way (Lean) concepts in order to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control the processes directly related to their particular area of focus. The successful candidate will oversee complex projects with minimal supervision and depending on the project needs, they may take on a leadership type role, providing oversight to a project team. The Quality Analyst will be responsible for the implementation of Project Quality Management Plans and Inspection Plans; responsible for developing and directing all quality audits, surveillance, and assessment activities. Ensuring all individuals are qualified to their appropriate job duties, supporting the process of all project documentation turnovers, and evaluating vendors and suppliers in accordance with Project Quality Plans and all applicable engineering, project specifications and codes. The Analyst must possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, and critical thinking skills. As well as, working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control skills; including but not limited to problem solving, waste elimination, design/specification development, and audit facilitation.

  • Technical subject matter expert (SME) for the entire department's scope of work. Is expected to understand and be able to update, modify, troubleshoot processes, standards, and equipment across all disciplines within the department. Will analyze current processes and procedures to identify waste elimination opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness as part of their standard work.

  • Has primary responsibility and is the single point of contact (SPOC) for interpretation and integration of regulatory requirements, industry codes and standards, development of work instructions, standard operating procedures, process controls, control charts, and associated training material for all technical functions within the department. Responsible for ensuring quality audits are planned and performed in accordance with internal requirements and industry standards. Works directly with outside agencies, auditors, and leadership to ensure the department is meeting all of its technical requirements.

  • Is responsible for managing the most complex and unique technical challenges the department faces with little to no oversight and is expected to have the experience needed to know when and how to bringing in the needed support from internal employees or within the wider industry.

  • Is responsible for managing larger projects and programs that may span many months or beyond a year, requiring significant planning, scheduling, and interfacing with numerous stakeholders outside the department.

  • Remains current on emerging technologies, regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices, and incorporates these into the department's standard work.

  • Development of the technical materials used to train employees in the department, as well as performance of the required departmental training.

  • Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
