ABOUT THE ROLE

Low Voltage Technicians perform all tasks required for the installation of a complete structured cabling system in a new or existing construction environment in the Denver Metro area including Loveland & Ft. Collins.

Sturgeon Electric has experience performing projects under Integrated Lean Project Delivery methods, and also offers pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabrication capabilities, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.

Essential Functions

• Perform all tasks required for installation of a complete structured cabling system in a new or existing construction environment. Including but not limited to:

• CAT 5e, 6, 6a and fiber optic horizontal cabling

• Copper/fiber optic distribution backbone cabling

• Pathways/cable support systems

• Equipment rack/cabinet installation

• Cross-connect blocks

• Fireproofing

• Cable certification testing

• Cable dressing

• Able to read and interpret floorplans, drawings, and specifications

• Be familiar with network equipment and circuitry, Fiber Optic and Ethernet cabling.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in installation of structured cabling in a commercial environment

• Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder

• Must own low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, toner, etc.

• Ability to be proactive, dependable, work safely, and perform work quality work

• Ability to work days, nights and weekends as project requires

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation

• This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The terms and conditions of the collective bargaining union agreement will apply. Wage is dependent on experience ($23.67 - $33.82 per hour) .
