GENERAL DUTIES The normal duties may include but are not limited to: 1.Employee will be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, corporate policies, procedures and practices. 2.Employee acting in conjunction with supervision or individual as directed by supervision will assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of Regulator & Operations Technician B and all lower classifications within the subject line of progression or other duties with which the employee is familiar. 3.Employee will, when directed, report to assigned locations both internal and external for the purpose of receiving training and will actively participate in the training activities. 4.Employee will carry out assignments in training for and/or performing fire fighting and first aid. 5.Employee will exhibit an adequate competency level pertaining to activities delineated in the Duties and Qualifications sections of this job classification. Employee will demonstrate such competency via performance of job duties and training and testing programs administered at intervals prescribed by Louisville Gas and Electric to assure correct classification of employees. 6.Employee will, during the normal performance of his/her duties, watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury. 7.Employee will perform duties of lower and higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within his/ her capabilities including those needed for the purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classifications. 8.Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. 9.Employee will report to any facility for any shift where needed as directed by supervision. 10.Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment. 11.Employee will compile information and generate reports, forms and documents as required. 12.Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance and attitude. 13.Employee will communicate by radio, telephone, or electronic communication to supervision on a regular basis. SPECIFIC DUTIES Duties which may include, but are not limited to: 1.Employee will perform all duties and meet all the qualifications for System Regulation & Operations Technician Helper. 2.Employee will perform and assist with the installation, inspection, testing, operation and maintenance of Company gas metering and regulating station, regulator pits, regulator assemblies, relief valves, remote inlet/outlet valves and associated equipment 3.Employee will perform and assist in operating the transmission and high-pressure gas system, including operating main line valves. 4.Employee will perform and assist in the shut down and purging of transmission and high pressure mains necessary for tie-ins, extensions and /or replacement work. 5.Employee will turn gas on and off to meter and regulator stations and pits. 6.Employee will assist in the investigation and perform and assist in the correction of malfunctions related to gas measurement and regulation facilities and associated equipment. 7.Employee will assist in the consultation and advising of contractors and other employees concerning the installation and testing of meter and regulation facilities with respect to compliance with applicable rules, regulations, codes and procedures. 8.Employee will perform and assist in the performance of the duties related to the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of meters, customer regulators and over-pressure protective devices in large commercial and industrial settings. 9.Employee will turn gas on and off for large commercial and industrial customers, including purging piping systems . 10.Employee will assist in the investigating of customer complaints and perform and assist in the correcting of malfunctions of meters, customer regulators and associated equipment. 11.Employee will perform testing of standard pressure/temperature indicating and recording gauges. 12.Employee will assist and calculate gas loads for customer and Company facilities. 13.Employee will operate company vehicles. 14.Employee will be available and respond to on-call duties as assigned by supervision. 15.Employee will successfully complete DOT Operator Qualifications required for System Regulation and Operations line of progression.
Must be able to lift 55 lbs. from the ground to the height of 30 inches and from waist level to chest level on a daily basis; Typical equipment/materials that must be lifted includes but is not limited to gas regulators; Able to climb up and down stairs and vertical ladders unassisted on a daily basis; Perform hand manipulations extended from your body, above your head, and near floor level for sustained periods of time; Work with hands typically involves but is not limited to meter installations, cable and component installations, and work on gas pit lids
1.Employee must have met the minimum qualifications, satisfactorily performed the duties and have a minimum of 12 months experience as a System Regulation & Operations Technician Helper, or equivalent, and successfully completed all training, testing programs and DOT Operator Qualifications required in the classification. 2.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge in the operation of the gas systems in general. 3.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge of the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of gas meters, regulators, relief valves, shut off devices and similar equipment. 4.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge of the transmission and high-pressure gas belt line systems and Company gas regulation facilities. 5.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge in the operation of transmission and high-pressure line valves. 6.Employee must have demonstrated the ability to read, understand and use gas construction drawings and maps and to make sketches, changes and additions to prints as directed, including recognizing and reporting mistakes on prints. 7.Employee must have demonstrated the ability to install, operate and maintain station piping. 8.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge of applicable mathematical gas laws and be able to perform the arithmetic associated with the duties. 9.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge of Company policies, rules and regulations, including the company's procedure for gas piping installation and be able to explain them to customers, contractors and others. 10.Employees must have demonstrated the ability to meet the public in a pleasant, courteous and tactful manner and must possess the ability to work cooperatively with other departments, utilities and contractors with which his/her work must be coordinated. 11.Employees must have demonstrated a working knowledge of computer systems associated with work group.. 12.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge and understanding of lockout/tagout procedures. 13.Employee must have demonstrated a working knowledge of the terms and apparatus associated with his/her duties.

Required Education & Experience:
1.Employee must meet all general qualifications of employment. 2.Employee must meet all qualifications as required by Federal, State and Municipal regulations as applies to this position. 3.Employee must be able to speak, understand, read and write English and be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. 4.Employee must have education or knowledge equivalent to that normally represented by satisfactory completion of the requirements of a high school diploma, or equivalent. 5.Employee must be able to learn to use the tools and equipment required in the work. 6.Employee must be thoroughly familiar with the Company Safety Rules and willingly see that they are enforced. 7.Employee must have or be able to obtain the appropriate certifications and licenses as required by state and federal authorities as required to safely operate company vehicles, including those with a manual transmission. 8.Employee must be able to work inside and outside under varying weather conditions. 9.Employee must be willing to report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed. 10.Employee must be in good health and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, which includes heavy manual labor. 11.Employee must possess the willingness and ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to advance to higher classifications. 12.Employee must be willing and able to communicate through verbal and written communications. 13.Employee must be able to learn to make and read simple drawings and sketches. 14.Employee must have demonstrated ability to carry through work assignments and conduct himself/herself in a manner that encourages cooperation and satisfactory work from others assigned to work with him/her. 15.Employee must have demonstrated proficiency in the ability to perform the duties associated with the lower classifications within the line of progression. 16.Employee must be able to direct and train other employees assigned to work with him/her to obtain satisfactory work results. 17.Employee must be rated qualified for entry into this classification under the Louisville Gas and Electric Company's Employee Performance Review Program and have satisfactorily completed all applicable training, testing programs, and DOT Operator Qualifications

Employee will perform a variety of skilled and technical duties requiring an intermediate degree of knowledge and skill related to the construction, installation, inspection and maintenance of Company gas measurement and regulation facilities and associated equipment, and large commercial and industrial metering and regulating facilities.
