Security Specialist I, II, III or Sr.
Conducts physical security inspections of Company facilities. Participates in the installation and maintenance of access control. Complies with security procedures for guarded facilities and ensures compliance through guard management. Interviews Company employees at various facilities to identify areas of concern regarding security. Conducts investigations of matters relating to the protection of Company personnel, property, and assets and deviations from Company policy and procedures to maintain positive Company image to customers. Maintains liaison with law enforcement agencies and officials concerned with security within the service area and the states of Kentucky and Indiana as well as external industrial security representatives. Assists with the design and maintenance of all Company identification cards and hang tags issued to employees and contractors. Assists in the conducting of background investigations on prospective Company employees.. In case of a labor dispute and work stoppage, supervises personnel who are assisting the Corporate Security Department in the deployment and inspection of guards, operation of security equipment, collection of evidence, response to acts of sabotage, and controlling mass picketing at Company facilities. Makes field decisions within Company policy relative to proper course of action for protection of personnel and property in cases of emergency. All other duties and projects as assigned.
Frequent walking, climbing, or standing and other types of physical exertion as necessary. Occasional use of upper body strength and manual dexterity.
Exposure to verbal abuse and stressful situations occasionally.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in security-related field and 0-2 years’ experience in law enforcement or private security, or alternate combination of education and experience which results in equivalent job knowledge. Requires good oral and written communication skills, ability to handle responsibility independently Should be PC proficient and have a valid vehicle operator's license

This position is responsible for assisting with the investigation of matters which relate to the internal and external security of the Company. Also, this position helps to maintain a positive Company image with customers by ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures and assists in the coordination of all private security forces contracted by the Company and liaison with law enforcement agencies throughout the service area in Kentucky and Indiana.
This position will be filled at the appropriate level according to the successful candidate's level of education and experience.
