Overview

Responsible for managing activities associated with the Company's compliance with requirements of Sections 302 and 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act. This includes coordinating SOX control testing with internal audit and the independent auditor, working with the business to ensure appropriate process and control documentation and proper classification and resolution of control issues, reporting SOX results to management, and implementing initiatives focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the SOX 404 process at the Company. This position reports to the PPL Corporation VP-Corporate Audit.

Responsibilities

• Develops SOX 404 testing approach based on a risk-based testing approach and coordination with the independent auditor.

• Manages activities associated with SOX 404 testing, including walkthroughs and control testing.

• Coordinates with the business and the independent auditor on control issue classification and resolution.

• Ensures that SOX issues are tracked and action plans to remediate are appropriate and implemented timely.

• Provides guidance to business lines and management in matters related to internal controls based on acquired technical and Company knowledge. Supports the business on identifying risk and ensuring controls mitigate the risk.

• Reports and communicates, verbally and in writing, the results of SOX issues and initiatives to Company management.

• Implements initiatives focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the SOX testing and reporting process.

• Coordinates SOX activities with other operating companies' SOX compliance and internal audit functions.

• Drives initiatives focused on continuous improvement.

• Supervises and mentors other employees.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree

• 7 years of audit, risk management or business operations experience

• Requires effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.

• Critical business analysis and project management skills required.

• Knowledge of business operations and a working knowledge of risk identification and assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or other advanced degree.

• Professional certification.

• Technical skills to analyze data using various technologies.

• Knowledge of business line utility operations.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and assignments.
