Become an Employee and Contractor Field Safety Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll support and lead a team of Field Safety Advisors in the Employee and Contractor Safety (E&CS) Northwest team who develop and maintain safety standards, programs, and policies. These include field safety programs specific to various organizational unit (OU) work activities. All levels of Edison Safety management play a critical leadership role in supporting the execution of SCE’s safety goals, the progression of our safety culture, and in providing for the safety oversight of all employees and contractors.

Responsibilities
Lead their organization and are considered safety technical experts; provide guidance and influence to specific organizations safety programs, policies and procedures
Is the safety conscience of the company supporting specific organizations front-line leaders within SCE, has intimate understanding of their operational needs, builds and maintain effective working relationships with them to influence safety culture improvement
Prioritizes work to align and support Edison Safety and specific organizations goals for an injury-free workplace; influences specific organizations front-line leaders by partnering with them to identify and mitigate factors that can lead to injuries, serious injuries and fatalities
Coaches their team and specific organizations front-line leaders on safety, reinforcing desired behaviors and providing guidance to address unsafe behaviors; deepens their knowledge in work process and educates them in methods that reduce risk
Leads Safety Advisors by providing clear and actionable goals and drives results through empowerment and accountability
Implements the Safety Support Plan, SME to specific organizations leadership, APM, work policies, audit responses, safety related initiatives
Supports cause evaluations, OU partner leadership teams, safety forums and congresses, advise on policy and procedure changes
Guides specific organizations inquiries & informs decisions based on safety rules, policies & industry standards
Reviews safety data, observation outcomes, corrective actions, operational compliance, training, culture, safety messaging
Develops high performing teams by meeting commitments and achieving results; collaborates with specific organizations leadership to align efforts and integrate work
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising function.
Experience and skills in Electrical Utility craft, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental, Engineering, Business, Safety, or related field.
Completion Electrical Utility Craft Apprenticeship Training.
Knowledge of CAL/OSHA and other governmental regulations relating to the electric utility industry.
Experience participating in safety investigations, determining root causes, and recommending solutions.
Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) or other applicable safety certifications.
Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience performing analyses and making recommendations for improvements in work methods.
Additional Information
This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
