JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Responsible for providing overall guidance, direction and supervision to all department personnel; developing and/or implementing programs and strategies to improve employee safety and performance; ensuring that employees adhere to all applicable company work practices, procedures, and safety rules; managing the day to day activities of the organization to achieve established section goals and measures; working closely with other departments to ensure that cross functional processes are performing as designed; monitoring organization operations to ensure optimization of productivity; assisting with restoration efforts during major storms; ensuring development and implementation of effective training programs for department employees; ensuring effective and timely management of customer complaints, along with mitigation of complaints; and ensuring that all employees are engaged and aligned with department issues critical to the department success.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Support all SAFETY initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety rules and guidelines. Conduct meter training and safety audits for the Field Metering group. Review and assign all SOX testing for transmission assets and the power plants.

Manage meter projects for industrial and commercial customers, load survey customers, and IPP's. Provide technical assistance and training and support for metering projects as necessary. Review and assign test and maintenance schedules for all instrument rated metering installations. Ensure the coordination of instrument rated metering jobs with other departments (construction/service, account management, IPD, back office accounting, revenue assurance).

Ensure that systems and processes are in place to support the proper flow of accurate data and information to both internal and external customers. Ensure Company's Service Standards are understood and utilized in providing service to customers.

Research new product lines and equipment to ensure the best and most economical application of technology. Manage resources and the budget for compliance with Company goals and objectives.

Utilize Company's Performance Planning and Review procedures to ensure all employees have developmental plans to encourage the growth and success of each employee. Provide training and coaching to the work group to ensure all employees are familiar with the Company policies and procedures required to serve customers and comply with all applicable codes for designing and maintaining electrical distribution facilities.

Provide technical expertise to the local Jurisdiction on items arising from local and state regulatory agencies, customer complaints involving instrument rated metering, work management, etc. Participate on System ECI teams and implement new initiatives across the state.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

High school diploma required. Desired: 4 year degree (or equivalent work experience). Desired : 4 year Engineering degree, preferably Electrical Engineering (or equivalent work experience).

Minimum experience required of the position

6 years field experience (T&D, distribution, customer service, or related experience) required. Desired : 6-8 years field experience (T&D, distribution, customer service, or related experience) required. Existing Supervisory/Leadership experience is preferred.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Knowledgeable of Entergy's policies and procedures, safety rules, distribution installation standards and PUCT guidelines. Strong computer skills are a must to understand/manage all metering software packages and revisions. Competent mathematics and trigonometry skills. Ability to work both independently and with others. Must be a self-starter, dependable, and have the ability to plan and organize. Must be a self-starter, dependable, and have the ability to plan and organize. Must have the capability to run this department as a business and to constantly identify and implement improvements. An engineering or technical back ground is desirable but nor required. Some knowledge of meter terminology is mandatory. A good working knowledge of the transmission and distribution systems. Good working knowledge of meters and the ability to learn and implement new metering technology. Possess a working knowledge of Excel, Word, AM/FM, and DFM. Access, AIS, and CCS are desirable but not required initially. Desired: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Effective management and leadership skills.
