Job Title: Product Analyst II Sr New Products & Services

This position can be filled as an Analyst II – Analyst Sr. depending on related experience.

The product analyst is responsible for providing data-driven insights andanalytical support to the new products and services team.This role is essential in helping the organization develop, manage, and improve its products and services within a complex regulatory environment. The product analyst collects, synthesizes, and analyzes data from various sources, builds business cases to support justification of new initiatives, tracks product performance, monitors the competitive landscape and industry trends, and provides recommendations and creates presentations to optimize the utility's product portfolio and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Gather, synthesize, and analyze data from various sources, such as customer feedback, market research, operational metrics, customer account data, and regulatory reports.

  • Identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform product strategy and decision-making.

Market and Competitive Intelligence:

  • Monitor the competitive landscape, industry trends, and regulatory changes that may impact existing and future products and services.

  • Provide insights and recommendations on how the utility can improve its offerings to increase growth, adoption, and customer satisfaction.

Business Case Development

  • Leverage data, market intelligence, learnings from the existing portfolio, and stakeholder subject matter expertise and feedback to develop business cases for potential new products and services.

  • Continuously iterate on business cases to refine assumptions and inputs, incorporate feedback, and increasingly improve precision.

Product Performance Tracking:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track the performance of the products and services, including key metrics such as customer satisfaction, adoption, revenue, and regulatory compliance.

  • Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to the product team.

Pricing and Tariff Analysis:

  • Analyze the utility's pricing and tariff structures, and assess their alignment with regulatory requirements, market conditions, and the company's business objectives.

  • Provide recommendations on pricing and tariff adjustments to optimize revenue, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

Customer Segmentation and Profiling:

  • Segment the utility's customer base based on various factors, such as usage patterns, demographics, and preferences.

  • Develop detailed customer profiles to help the product management team tailor products and services to specific customer needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the product team, customer insights and journey, market intelligence and analytics, marketing, sales, operating company customer service teams, and others to provide data-driven insights and support product-related initiatives.

  • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations and create presentations to various stakeholders, including senior management.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's Degree in technical or business-related field or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Analyst II: 2-4 years of relevant professional experience

  • Analyst III: 4-6 years of relevant professional experience

  • Analyst Sr: 6+ years of relevant professional experience

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Technical Skills:

Strong data collection, analysis, and interpretation skills, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.

Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
