JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Responsible for the development and performance of all outdoor lighting sales activities across Entergy's service territory. Staffs and directs a dedicated sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to grow the outdoor lighting business and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for internal and external customers, suppliers and sales representatives. Responsible for achievement of sales targets.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of Entergy's outdoor lighting sales goals. Responsible for the performance and development of the Sales Representatives. Prepare action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects. Responsible for coordination, development, and execution of sales plans for traditional sales channels (e.g. Contact Centers, Engineering, Customer Service and Economic Development). Develop and implement lead generation, incentive programs & sales processes to ensure closure of leads, installation of sales and capture and retention of revenues.
Initiate, coordinate development, and support of marketing plans to penetrate new market segments. Assist in the development and implementation of product and marketing plans as needed. Work with Sales Representatives and lighting champions to maintain effective communications to understand training and development needs and to provide insight for the achievement of sales targets.
Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance. Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Sales Representatives.
Support Sales Representatives in preparation of proposals and presentations. Control expenses to meet budget guidelines. Adhere to company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Ensure that all necessary contracts are secured and maintained. Develop relationships with internal suppliers, including Engineering, Distribution Operations, Supply Chain, - and Regulatory Services. Establish and sustain relationships with external stakeholders including lighting manufacturers, architect and engineering firms and developers to provide growth opportunities. Ensure that all Sales Representatives meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and closes. Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
Set examples for Sales Representatives and lighting leads in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits. Conduct regular coaching and counseling with Sales Representatives to maintain positive selling and customer service skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.
MBA a plus.
Minimum experience required of the position
- 5+ years in sales management.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Experience with Entergy's operating computer systems and software or Microsoft suite of productivity tools and customer relationship management (CRM) system.
Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship and Sales Management. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
Sales leader in consumer products or services, and ability to learn outdoor lighting. Willingness to travel. Proven leadership and ability to drive sales team. Proven ability to achieve sales quota.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
