A Transmission Engineering Internassists in various areas of Transmission in AECC’s Engineering Department and will report to the AECC headquarters in Little Rock. We’re looking for someone who can maintain a high degree of situational awareness to meet continually changing conditions with a fresh and adaptable approach. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and strive to push forward AECC’s mission.


  • Assist with development of engineering designs for various projects related to electrical substations, transmission lines and associated monitoring and control systems.

  • Use AutoCAD software to model and assemble components related to designs

  • Organize facility drawings and documents to conform to division records management standards

  • Assist with procurement and contracting related to purchase of equipment, materials or construction labor

  • Perform field work at various AECC facilities

  • Assist with database development and process mapping

  • Support engineering staff in the performance of their duties

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Pursuing an Engineering degree from an engineering program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. (EAC of ABET).

  • Focus on electrical or systems engineering is preferred.

  • Valid state driver’s license

  • Technologically adept and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.

  • Experience with database development and AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.

  • Exceptional analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Extremely detailed and accuracy oriented.

  • Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Able to work well in somewhat challenging weather conditions when on site visits.
