An Electrical Engineerprovides the initiative, technical ability, and responsibility required to give AECC a well-designed, soundly constructed, and reliably operated generation and transmission systems. We’re looking for someone who can maintain a high degree of situational awareness to meet continually changing conditions with a fresh and adaptable approach. Provides electrical engineering designs related to transmission systems, specifies electrical equipment and produces drawings for the construction of substations and switching stations.
Designs and supports protective relaying systems for substations and transmission lines.
Designs, configures, and supports control and monitoring systems in substations; develops and configures associated operator screens/interfaces; updates and maintains transmission system model.
Designs and prepares drawings, reports, forms and configurations for revenue metering installations at AECC and member cooperative facilities.
Assists in preparing budget estimates and stays abreast of related current scientific developments and governmental regulations
Consults with and aids power delivery personnel on maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations of electrical and control systems and equipment.
Keeps abreast of related current scientific and engineering developments and governmental regulations.
The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Must meet eligibility requirements to take Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination
Valid driver’s license
Minimum Experience Required
Engineer I: No experience required
Engineer II: Minimum 2 years’ experience required
Engineer III: Minimum 4 years’ experience required
Sr Engineer: Minimum 8 years’ experience and PE required
5 years of related experience
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer license in the State of Arkansas
Knowledge of electric power systems
Knowledge of protective relaying schemes & equipment
Knowledge of industry protocols (DNP, etc.)
Proficient in database development/management
Knowledge of power plant processes
Knowledge of automation controllers and ladder logic
Knowledge of AutoCAD software
