CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Responsible for managing, coordinating, and completing all payroll administration and accounts payable functions and related processes, tax reporting and filing, system support to the division on specified projects and activities. Acts as the subject matter expert and provides training and support to the department and company in the above areas. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

  • Leads the administration and coordination of payroll activities including updating employee payroll records, verifying time entry, generating pay, distributing pay reports, and initiating payroll vouchers for approval.

  • Actively participates in the planning, evaluation, testing, and implementation of software updates, changes, patches, and conversions related to payroll and accounts payable functions.

  • Manages, reviews, and verifies all payroll reports from the payroll system for each pay period, quarter, and payroll year.

  • Acts as departmental payroll liaison with internal customers, external entities, governmental agencies, and internal/external auditors, etc.

  • Assists with the process, reconciliation, and audit of incoming invoices and payment vouchers, p-card and cash expense transactions, and vendor statements for accuracy and timeliness of payment.

  • Prepares payments by ACH, wire transfer, check, and other approved methods.

  • Manages and maintains vendor accounts and proactively completes internal and external requests for information regarding vendor accounts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree in Accounting, and

  • At least two years of payroll experience; or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
