We are looking for custodians to maintain a safe and welcoming environment at multiple LES locations in Lincoln. This posting is for our north location located at 2620 Fairfield Street. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND COMPETENCIES

Performs a variety of duties, under general supervision, requiring skill in operation, maintenance, and cleaning of LES owned buildings in accordance with LES policies, safety rules, procedures, and practices to maintain efficient and functional buildings. Specific duties include prioritizing tasks, engaging in continuous process improvement to gain efficiencies, working independently to complete small tasks to meet facility goals, and responding to after-hour facility needs, as needed. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • Under general supervision, performs routine custodial duties, to include floor care, general cleaning, cleaning restrooms, moving furniture, operating cleaning equipment, setting up meeting rooms, and other minor facility cleaning/maintenance projects.

  • Under general supervision, ensures that custodial facility maintenance equipment is operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and machines.

  • Operates ride-on and walk-behind floor scrubbers. Cleans floors including buffing, stripping/waxing, and carpet extraction.

  • Maintain stock levels of various items including restroom and breakroom supplies.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of custodial trades and the associated tools, equipment, and chemicals.

  • Basic computer knowledge to include word processing and email communication.

  • Ability to follow floor maintenance schedules and assigned cleaning areas.

  • Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and skills used for floor care maintenance including strip/wax, buff, and carpet extraction.

  • Ability to identify and properly use cleaning chemicals by following product directions and safety guidelines.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or G.E.D., and

  • At least one year of related experience, or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
