We are looking for a Communications Engineer to join our talented team, focusing on maintaining and growing all our networks across the different business areas and data centers at LES. In the Communications Engineer role, you will gain experience supporting the day-to-day maintenance of our networks and related networking gear. You will also be involved in projects under the guidance of Tier III Engineers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and learn from the best. CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provides engineering support including analysis, design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems, private networks, and technical services for both IT and OT environments. Specific duties include designing and leading small to medium scale projects, supervising consulting services, material selection, bid evaluations, preparation of feasibility studies, and creating/updating specifications for associated telecommunication equipment. Acts as on-call Engineer as assigned outside normal working hours. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

  • Maintains the planning, design, analysis, construction, commissioning, integration, installation, operation, and optimization of telecommunication systems and private networks.

  • Leads small to medium scale projects throughout the lifecycle of the project for data center networks, campus networks, DMZ networks, external networks, transport networks, fiber optic networks, radio networks, network security, DAS system, Wireless system, VoIP system, and communication towers.

  • Implements new telecommunication schemes, network schemes and proposed system changes to determine their effect on existing systems.

  • Implements engineering standards, standard materials, specifications, policies, procedures and guidelines for LES systems and applications.

  • Updates design prints for the OT networks and Visio designs for the IT networks.

  • Assists with emergency routines, system additions, regulatory compliance, system modifications, and licensing.

  • Assists with conducting network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Mathematical skills including statistics, differential equations, algebra, calculus and other related principles.

  • Budgeting preparation skills.

  • Intermediate experience with network switches, routers, wireless platforms, telephony platforms, security policy management platforms, software defined network platforms, fiber management software and OT systems.

  • Intermediate experience with End-to-End Networks (Datacenter, Campus, DMZ, WAN, Radio, and Transport) architecture.

  • Intermediate knowledge and exposure to common vulnerabilities and attack vectors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field, or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Internship preferred
