Overview
The Economic Development Project Manager position serves as the company representative on economic development projects and assists community economic development partners to best position new or expanding company locations within LG&E and KU Energy's service territory. This position performs a wide variety of services and coordinates detailed assignments related to the company's economic development strategy and efforts to include data gathering, information sharing, rate estimates, contract development and communication coordination. The Project Manager supports economic development efforts through leadership engagement and customer service to government and community economic development professionals on a regular basis. The position engages regularly with a wide variety of departments throughout the company as a single point of contact to ensure adherence of company policies while advancing economic development efforts and ensuring a positive customer experience for external stakeholders.
This position could be located in Louisville or Lexington, KY.

Responsibilities
•Educates communities on preparedness of project management, sites, buildings and infrastructure needs in order to proactively market the competitive advantages of the LG&E and KU territory
•Acquires utility specific site information and responds to project inquiries regarding infrastructure, tariffs, rates, policies and practices of the company within the required deadlines
•Maintains confidentiality of economic project details with internal and external stakeholders
•Develops rapport, as liaison, with the state economic development cabinet, community constituents, site consultants, real estate executives and others, through community visits, written correspondence, telephone, and customer meetings
•Responsible for fostering relationships with external stakeholders to improve the states and the company’s competitive position for site locations
•Develops and maintains ongoing communication with site consultants, real estate professionals, state and community economic development partners, workforce agencies, governmental officials and other key public/private stakeholder groups
•Represents the company at business attraction and marking events/conferences to promote the company’s service territory for new business expansion and relocation
•Increases electric and gas revenue with economic development project opportunities to grow businesses in company’s service territory where existing infrastructure exists
•Develops economic development project opportunities to grow businesses in company’s service territory
•Acquires and contacts leads utilizing interpersonal skills, marketing and computer-enhanced research methods
•Research utility and economic development best practices and maintains current knowledge of industry trends and efforts
•Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, Engineering or related field is required.
Required Experience
Proficient demonstration of written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and organization skills with focus on customer service and time management is required.
Preferred Qualifications
•Prior experience in direct economic development, redevelopment, real estate, public affairs, business operations or related field
•Familiarity with database applications, MS Office, written and verbal communications, presentations and meeting facilitation
•A basic economic development knowledge base preferred.
Required Education

Remote Work
