Job Description

The Developmental Intern will assist with ensuring close out of any audit findings (NYS Fire Marshall, AEGIS); work with site Planners to create Job Hazard Analyses for high risk tasks; finalize site Confined Space Program (audit locations and permits, create binders for supervisors, ensure proper signage); attend monthly safety committee meetings and assist with action items; assist with any injury investigations and corrective actions; conduct chemical inventory and work with Environmental Dept. to minimize inventory. The anticipated results for Niagara will minimize overall worker risk at the Project.

  • Become familiar with the process of hazard identification and implementation of corrective measures

  • Develop a working knowledge of Job Hazard Analyses and how they minimize worker risk

  • Obtain an understanding of the importance of injury investigations and prevention of future incidents

Required Skills

  • Computer skills - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.Knowledge of OSHA regulations, JHAs (Job Hazard/Safety Analyses), accident investigations

  • Works well with others, able to communicate clearly and effectively with craft and management, strong verbal and written skills

  • Risk management and reduction.

Required Experience

It is preferred that the students be entering their 3rd year of college with a minimum 3.0 GPA for participation in this program.
