HDD Locator
HDD Locator are responsible for precise HDD placement, utilizing the latest in electronics to navigate the drill stem in a trenchless operation. HDD Locators work under the supervision of the Superintendent. Specific job title may include Bore CDL Locator
What Do You Offer Us?
Locate utilities with either Digi-track or Subsite locating systems, preferably both
Operate equipment, including, but not limited to directional drills, locating systems, trencher, backhoe, excavators
Locators read and interpret utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities.
Capabilities to operate equipment to trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main-line and drops
Other duties as required for business purposes.
Familiarity with Horizontal Directional Drills, ability to use cable placement equipment and tools; ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.
Other related duties and projects as assigned

What is Required?
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required, at times.
Experience with locating & verify all utilities before construction
Ability to work safely, with or without supervision.
Ability to work extended hours when necessary for business
Experience working in construction is a plus
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability and willingness to travel as needed
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds of force frequently
Exertion up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
Walking on uneven terrain/surfaces
Sitting or standing for long periods of time
Reaching and lifting overhead frequently
Work environment outdoors in weather conditions that vary from freezing temperatures to heat above 90 degrees, in wet and dry conditions and in rural areas.
Work may be performed in confined spaces. Some exposure to odors, gases, dust and dirt may occur.
The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
May spend long periods of time driving and/or riding in line construction vehicles to reach remote areas of the service territory.
This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
