Here’s what you will do:

  • Coordinate field commissioning activities for small to large Enbridge Projects through the management of either third-party Specialized Contractors or internal Enbridge Technicians.

  • Develop comprehensive commissioning and start-up execution plans (resource requirements, cost estimates, schedules, etc.) required to effectively and efficiently commission Liquid Pipelines and Gas Transmission projects.

  • Assure commissioning activities are executed in accordance with established Enbridge processes and procedures, while ensuring that project scope, schedule, cost, and quality expectations are effectively managed.

  • Manage issues identified through the commissioning phase of projects and use technical expertise to resolve these issues.

  • Assist with procedure reviews and continual improvement department initiatives. Ensure equipment is properly turned over from Construction to Commissioning through detailed walkthroughs and deficiency tracking.

Who you are:

  • Five (5) years of experience as an Electrician or similar occupation with experience in commissioning within the oil and gas sector.

  • The five (5) years of experience must have included the following: electrical device testing; energizing complex electrical systems; startup of oil and gas assets; technical and working knowledge of design and construction codes such as NEC, CEC, CSA Z662, AEUB, NEB, etc.; in-depth knowledge of project and commissioning processes for pipeline applications; liquids pipeline commissioning and process knowledge; experience in administrating and developing digital completions software for projects commissioning; application of national electric code; use of hydraulics knowledge; and working in natural gas and compression systems.

  • Must have an Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering Technology or Electrician Trade Certificate

  • Domestic travel up to 45% and Canada travel up to 5% required.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
