Gas Planning and Design Engineer

InfraSource is seeking a qualified Gas Planning and Design Engineer with experience in the natural gas industry. Primary responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing existing gas records and system maps to identify infrastructure that needs to be replaced. This individual will then be responsible for gas design work, fielding and sketching new infrastructure to replace the existing.

What Do You Offer Us?

  • Review existing main and service records

  • Analyze records for pipe material, coating, and date of installation

  • Review gas system maps to determine areas of interest

  • Update records and system information as discrepancies are found

  • Using existing records. Design new plastic pipe system to replace existing infrastructure

  • Take field dimensions and observations

  • Locate all existing utilities: Gas, Water, Sewer, Storm, Telecom

  • Plan route for new main installation

  • Coordinate replacement or tie-back of existing gas services within the scope of renewal project

  • Use standard gas tie-in methods to plan tie-backs to existing infrastructure

What is Required?

  • A four-year degree in a related discipline or 3 years’ experience required

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel

  • Ability to sketch basic road layouts and utility lines

  • Exposure to Drafting Software. Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus

  • Expert organizer (notes, files, documents, etc.)

  • Proficient in Technical Writing/Correspondence

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
