PAY RANGE: II: $62,400 - $78,000

III: $78,600 - $98,200

IV: $84,500 - $105,600

Scheduled Work Hours:Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)

*Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: *

Applic Programmer/Analyst II:

With general supervision, this position develops, maintains and documents the detailed logic of part of a complex application program/business function, modifying existing routines or modifying purchased application software. In addition, provides troubleshooting assistance to end users.

Applic Programmer/Analyst III:

This position typically provides application expertise and support for a limited number of system applications/business functions. This position plays a key role in designing, encoding, testing and documenting the development and modification of applications. In addition, this position assumes a leadership role on medium-size projects.

Applic Programmer/Analyst IV:

This position provides high level systems and applications support and leadership “across diverse business lines.” In addition, this position leads and is responsible for the planning, design and development/modification of complex or large scale system applications.

*Applic Programmer/Analyst II: *Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related field and 2 years of applications programming experience OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related field and 1 year of applications programming experience OR 4 years of applications programming experience.

*Applic Programmer/Analyst III: *Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field and 4 years of applications programming experience OR 6 years of applications programming experience.

*Applic Programmer/Analyst IV: *Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field and 6 years of applications programming experience OR 9 years of applications programming experience AND Expertise in multiple application systems/business functions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

Applic Programmer/Analyst II:

• Working knowledge of standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to application development.

• Limited programming expertise with ability to work on moderately complex programming assignments.

• Familiar with multiple application systems/business functions with working knowledge of selected systems/functions.

• Familiar with business goals, corporate IT standards, strategy and service level agreements.

• Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.

• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with members of the technical team.

• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with end-users.

• Seeks and identifies appropriate solutions to problems.

• Manages time effectively while assuring attention to details.

• Finishes tasks accurately, completely and on time.

• Makes sound decisions with general guidance.

Applic Programmer/Analyst III:

• Understands and considers standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to application development.

• Expertise in a limited number of programming languages/application systems while becoming increasingly familiar with additional programming languages and/or application systems.

• Working knowledge of multiple application systems/business functions with expertise in selected systems/functions.

• Working knowledge of business goals, corporate IT standards, strategy and service level agreements.

• Communicates effectively with all levels of employees, both technical and non-technical.

• Establishes cooperative relationships with departments

• Guides small to medium project teams effectively, accurately and timely.

• Searches for and identifies alternative and/or innovative solutions to technical problems.

• Uses planning skills to manage and complete projects on time and on budget.

• Exercises sound judgment when making decisions.

• Quickly adapts to multiple demands and rapidly changing priorities.

Applic Programmer/Analyst IV:

• Understands and considers standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to application development.

• Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and/or system environments.

• Expertise in multiple major application systems/business functions.

• Understands and considers business goals, corporate IT standards, department strategy, service level agreements, EVA’s and budgetary implications.

• Communicates effectively with all levels of employees, both technical and non-technical.

• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other departments.

• Leads large project teams effectively, promoting and supporting team work.

• Monitors emerging trends and evolving technologies, evaluating and understanding the implications for inclusion in departmental strategy.

• Takes the initiative to search for and identify alternative and/or innovative solutions to technical problems.

• Uses planning skills to manage and complete projects on time and on budget.

• Exercises sound judgment when making decisions.

• Quickly adapts to the demands inherent in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
