SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
JOB TITLE: Sr/Lead Product Manager, Evergy Energy Solutions
DEPARTMENT: Enhanced Customer Services - Kansas City Headquarters or Topeka General Office
LOCATION: Kansas City, MO
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Non-Regulated Products and Services, this position is focused on managing and growing Evergy’s portfolio of non-regulated products, with an immediate focus on growing and managing the non-residential solar business. The ideal candidate will have strong product management experience, with solar industry sales, marketing or product management experience a plus. As part of Evergy Energy Solutions, a non-regulated Evergy affiliate, this position will build cross-functional relationships within Evergy as well as with third-party service providers to develop and deliver custom solar solutions and other product and service offerings for Evergy customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute pricing and promotion strategies
Maintain and report on P&L for assigned product lines
Manage profitability of assigned product lines
Responsible for managing solar product to improve adoption, cost effectiveness and customer experience.
Develop customer proposals and conduct customer presentations to achieve solar sales targets.
Manage across internal departments and hire contractors to design, construct and perform O&M services for each solar installation.
Improve and solidify vendor relationships to drive the prescribed objectives including overall customer experience and financial results desired for product line.
Ensure costs are effectively managed by establishing and monitoring budgets and goals.
Provide insight, education and direction to cross functional teams to improve other areas of Evergy’s focus. Research related technologies for future implementation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, economics, engineering or a related discipline.
Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Four (4) to eight (8) years of related product management, sales, and new product development experience, or equivalent.
Thorough knowledge of product management and marketing concepts and tools.
Project management experience a plus.
Experience in marketing strategy, ROI, vendor and partner management, and P&L budget responsibility highly desirable.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
Experience in presenting customer solutions to decision-makers.
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize multiple data sources to gain insights and develop action plans, as well as an ability to execute against plans with excellence.
Experience leading and managing cross functional teams.
Track record of creative thinking and problem solving, as well as an ability to deliver successful, innovative products to market.
Demonstrable skills in leading people and projects while coordinating activities through a diverse group of people.
Understanding of technology solutions marketing and sales a plus.
Familiarity with roof-top solar technologies and industry a plus.
Familiarity with electric utility industry a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Valid driver's license required.
