Position Specific Description
The heat exchanger program engineer establishes and defines the requirements for maintaining the condition of all safety-related heat exchangers, heat exchangers with other regulatory commitments (e.g. NRC GL 89-13, etc.), or highly critical heat exchangers important to generation or reliability of a system. The overall objective of the Fleet Heat Exchanger Program is to optimize heat exchanger reliability by ensuring that appropriate operations, maintenance and engineering activities are performed such that expected results are achieved.
Maintain program processes that confirm that maintenance practices, operating procedures, and training are appropriate based on service conditions and are sufficient to ensure the equipment will function as intended.
Provide tube plugging criteria. Long and intermediate term plans for timely HX replacement. Routine performance monitoring.
Experience with balance of plant and safety related heat exchangers .
This job is responsible for performing engineering activities that support projects and operations across the nuclear business. Employees in this role apply broad nuclear plant engineering experience and principles to make decisions and recommendations. Individuals work with independence and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development.
