Position Specific Description

At NextEra Energy, the production of strategic and engaging content is a critical component of the company’s internal and external communication strategy. From producing videos about wind and solar site development, to including videos with product marketing and informational campaigns, the need for video content continues to grow. At NextEra Energy, we aim to deliver content that informs, engages and drives results.

This position resides in the marketing and communication business unit with the video production and broadcast team. In this position, the successful candidate will help develop concepts for and produce effective visual communications that help NextEra Energy meet strategic communication objectives. This includes developing engaging visual communications (video production, shooting, editing, graphics) to support campaigns that motivate, engage, inform and drive action among internal and external audiences.

As part of the video production and broadcast team, this candidate will work with requesters to help identify visual approach, manage production workflow and produce content for various channels including intranet (internal employee audience), social media, media (news), conferences and other channels and venues, as needed. The successful candidate will also learn about webcasting technologies and how video production plays an integral role in supporting today’s virtual meeting/working environments and digital collaboration needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in visual strategy and communication, with the ability to create engaging content with a purpose. This candidate has strong knowledge of video production and computer / video editing equipment and software, with the ability to set and strike gear, and troubleshoot issues. This candidate stays abreast of design trends and emerging technologies in the industry. This person is creative, reliable, organized and passionate about providing strategic visuals, while exceeding expectations.

Key areas of responsibility:

· Primary responsibilities include video pre-production, production and post-production support, including video project consulting, editing, audio editing and motion graphics.

· Other tasks include file conversions/compression/optimization for various channels, digital asset management, workflow and project management.

· Video production projects will include developing content for internal and external channels, including the company’s intranet and social media channels for the purposes of public relations, social media and internal corporate communications, campaigns, training and meetings.

· Video production support will also be required during emergency/storm events to support the company’s visual communication strategy and document company support and response.

· Utilize department project tracking system for project management

· Organize and manage multiple projects and tight deadlines

· Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

· Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop) and working knowledge of After Effects

· Knowledge of field and studio production equipment; ability to set up camera operations, lighting and sound equipment

· Have strong creative and analytical skills

· Detail oriented, organized and able to manage multiple projects while dealing with tight deadlines

· Working knowledge of photography is beneficial, but not required

· Effective written communications

· Effective verbal communications

Job Overview

Employees in this position are responsible for creating visually engaging communication to support a variety of business needs. This job creates graphic designs and animations that help explain complex issues for internal/external audiences.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Captures video and supports Audio Visual (AV) needs for corporate-wide events and projects

• Operates satellite uplink equipment to deliver key corporate messages to various audiences

• Acts as the subject-matter expert of emerging technologies for the department

• Works as an video editor with visual content to create final products in support of campaigns/projects

• Acts as a videographer capturing visual content for use in a variety of internal/external channels

• Acts as an animation artist, digital graphic designer, visual storyteller, video producer, and as an audio/visual technician in support of campaigns/projects

• Requires travel both within Florida and throughout the United States

• Meets attendance and storm duty requirements and has the ability to work extended hours if necessary

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED

• Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience

• Experience: 4+ years
