Position Specific Description

The Analyst position is a high profile job with NextEra Energy Trade Floor’s Front Office that opens the person up to other career opportunities within NextEra. Specifically, the Front Office is a revenue generating area offering potential advancement in Gas, Green, Oil or Power Scheduling, Marketing, and Trading. This position works with Traders, Risk Operations, Credit and Accounting personnel.

Day to Day Activities Include:

  1. Deal/Position capture in Phoenix, our custom Risk Management system.

  2. Profit and Loss reporting for the PMI Trade Group.

  3. End of Day check-out with Traders to ensure minimal deal level exceptions.

  4. Special reporting and projects as assigned.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for supporting structured transactions in the energy marketing group through monitoring and verification of trade deals. Employees in this role monitor and report on Value at Risk, daily activity, Profit and Loss, and pricing information.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verifies position reports, enters trade deals and executes the end-of-day recaps and reports

  • Monitors daily Value at Risk, position, and other risk related measures

  • Reconciles broker and other external statements

  • Provides management with daily Profit and Loss and pricing information

  • Handles Electronic Funds Sources and other clearing transactions

  • Supports the development and execution of the company's trading program

  • Assists in preparing presentations

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 2+ years
