Position Specific Description
The Sr. Communication Specialist – FPL Corporate Affairs is a client service position that primarily supports the company’s environmental services and regulatory affairs teams. In this role, the ideal candidate will develop and execute external communications to support key environmental initiatives and regulatory filings. The role, which requires strong attention to detail and an ability to comprehend and effectively communicate complex topics, will need to draw on the full range of communications services, including messaging, media relations, research, social media and serving as a spokesperson. The position may involve some travel. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, critical thinker and strong writer with a team-first attitude and desire to learn and grow. This job is responsible for assisting with projects from the earliest stages of concept and development through to successful completion on time, on budget and as measured by achievement of metrics. Employees in this role are expected to work with a high degree of initiative and independence in anticipating client needs, developing communication solutions that further the business objectives, and ensuring their successful implementation. This position serves as a key contributor on the team in a broad range of communications activities as assigned.
