In this role you will report to the Director of Origination for the Central-North region and be primarily responsible for identifying market opportunities and generating new business, including early stage prospecting and development, for wind, solar, and energy storage utility-scale projects in the Mid-Western United States. This position has a specific focus on renewable energy in the MISO, SPP and PJM markets; experience working within regulated ISOs is preferred.

This role is focused on customer interaction, including collaboration with internal stakeholders who have customer outreach responsibility. You will work with existing and prospective customers, creating and providing single and multi-technology offerings. In conjunction with development and other subject matter experts, you will prepare proposal documents for submittal of project bids into Requests for Proposals and other direct opportunities for power purchase and build-transfer agreements. You will work with our legal, finance, regulatory and technical experts to negotiate term sheet agreements and move deals toward execution. This role will have a specific focus on surplus interconnection and generator replacement opportunities stemming from FERC’s Order 845. You will also support due diligence activities for acquisition of third party projects.

Travel requirements for this role will fluctuate, and you can expect to travel to customer meetings and industry events up to 50% of the time. Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints. Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
