Position Specific Description

Corporate Tax is seeking a highly organized, analytical and motivated Manager to join the tax team. This role will be responsible for quality deployment and project management activities for complex and high-volume process improvement initiatives across the tax organization.

  • Manage the coordination of the Tax Technology team’s deliverables to customers

  • Ability to evaluate team member’s competing priorities and balance expectations based on pointed value and commitment

  • Provides formalized, continuing work direction and leadership to assigned team(s) to ensure timely and effective project execution

  • Builds knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers

  • Ability to challenge project team to meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining relationships

  • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes through use of technology and innovation

  • Serves as product owner for highly complex and cross functional projects applying the Agile project management methodology

  • Lead teams in applying Six Sigma principles to identified projects that meet the criteria and assist teams in completing certification requirements

  • Create and communicate formal presentation of project work and recommendations to business leaders at various levels of management

  • Effective communication within tax organization to ensure efficient process for meeting business requirements

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Preferred skills/experience

  • Demonstrated discipline in project management and execution

  • Agile project management methodology

  • Strong writing, verbal, editing, presentation, and overall communication skills

  • Sound business and financial acumen

  • Strong analytical skills and data driven

  • A talent for creative thinking and problem solving

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified – strongly preferred

  • PMP Certification highly desirable

Job Overview

Employees in this position are responsible for one or more of the following: tax research, planning, forecasting, analysis, and defense of tax positions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages tax related projects, including system maintenance and/or development

  • Prepares and/or reviews tax returns and corresponding tax work papers and files

  • Researches law, regulations, administrative rulings and court cases and presents proposals to lawfully minimize tax liability

  • Researches and drafts responses to inquiries from government agencies regarding tax filings, and other claims

  • Provides and/or verifies tax assumptions and tax results in project models

  • Leads project teams to improve quality, efficiency, predictability and/or transparency

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's - Accounting / Finance

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
