Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC seeks a business savvy attorney with commercial trial experience and insurance coverage disputes experience to join a team of litigators supporting litigation matters involving the renewable energy projects located across 30+ states and Canada. Reporting to VP and Chief Litigation Counsel, you will be on the front lines of all litigation matters – class actions, contractual disputes, commercial issues, personal injury, property damage, regulatory, zoning, and insurance coverage. This is an opportunity to provide expertise driving creative, business enabling, customer-focused, practical and proactive legal guidance. The successful candidate will have excellent trial and management skills, a commitment to develop a deep understanding of NextEra’s business, and have an ability to guide internal and external clients with clear, practical advice in a fast-paced environment. Job Overview

Employees in this job participate in complex legal matters and projects and deliver timely and quality legal services to clients with moderate supervision.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides written and oral legal advice to clients

• Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization

• Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel

• Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Member in Good Standing of State Bar

• High School Grad / GED

• Juris Doctorate

• Bachelor's Degree

• Experience: 2+ years
